Lawrence of Arabia
Published in Audio Cassette by Isis Audio Books (January, 2000)
Authors: Jeremy Wilson and Richard Derrington
Average review score:

Where's the hardcover version?
This 128 page paperback version may be a good read. I don't know, haven't read it. My copy is the 946 page hardcover edition. It is thorough, balanced and an excellent read. If you can find that version, get it!

The only Lawrence resource you'll ever need
Using extensive documentation, including documents unreleased by the British government when earlier, more speculative biographies were written, Jeremy Wilson produced a phenomenal work of great scope and power. The book may be too exhaustive for casual readers, who will find the reams of speculative nonsense written about Lawrence more to their liking. Wilson also carefully deconstructs many precious Lawrence myths: that Lawrence was homosexual, for instance, is unproven (there's no evidence that he was sexual at all); that he made up large portions of his adventures is also proven untrue -- though in his later writings he sometimes shaped a story to sound better and certainly he had to dance around descriptions of his intelligence work. But these are both side issues. Lawrence lived a life of tremendous accomplishment in the First World War, but in other fields, such as archaeology and literature. Wilson is fair, and corrects Lawrence's own accounts when necessary. This is not a work of hagiography. It is the most well-documented biography of Lawrence, and Wilson quotes primary documentation extensively -- perhaps too extensively. It's a must for the library of any Lawrence fan, and the only necessary secondary reference work for anyone who wants the truth about Lawrence. Those who require something more nonsensical and speculative in their diet may add Knights "Secret Lives of Lawrence of Arabia".

Jeremy Wilson's book on Lawrence of Arabia
I had previously read the Robert Graves book on Lawrence. This was far more superior. It was engrossing, detailed and made me want to know more about this incredible man. There didn't seem to be any bias for or against Lawrence by the author. It moved quickly. It's apparent that he did a very detailed job of researching Lawrence. I am know looking for other books that might uncover even more information. Enjoy!

Lawyer's Tale
Published in Hardcover by Rh Val Pub (November, 1995)
Author: D. Lawrence Kincaid
Average review score:

Great book written by one of the best legal minds....
of our time. The Lawyer's Tale and Sunset Bomber were both written by the famed Los Angeles lawyer, Bert Fields. His clients are some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Tom Cruise, Steven Spielberg are just some of his high profle clients. He has never lost a case and he is considered the most feared and powerful man in the Industry.
He writes about what he knows best and does it really well. You just have to ask the question, how much is really fiction?

The Lawyer's Tale
I thought this to be an excellent book. I read it in 5 hours. The book just kept you going from one thing to another. I was wondering if there were any others books written by this author. Does anyone know?

The Lawyers Tale recommended by the best
I believe that this book was written by a pure genious. It was an excellent book and it has the potential to keep you reading. Many books can not do this to a person, but this one is a true goodie.

Little Book of Karma
Published in Paperback by Thorsons Pub (15 May, 2001)
Author: Richard Lawrence
Average review score:

Great Gift
This book may be small in size, but it is packed with deep metaphysical information. It is a subject that affects us all every day of our lives and it is the ideal book to keep with you and dip into frequently. I have several of Richard Lawrence's books and I enjoy the way he makes even the most complex subjects, very clear and logical. It is said that the greatest gift you can give another person is wisdom. This book really does make a great gift.

A timely book of karma
It is obivious that Richard knows his subject inside out. He is able to impart the complex and much of the time a hidden and mysterious subject in to laymans terms. He accomplishes this through his own experiences and that of others who have gone before him. This book is a goldmine of information, despite its size it is ideal for anyone wanting to learn more about karma and get ahead in life. Thoroughly recommended!

The HUGE 'little book of karma'
I have studied many books on metaphysics and karma but this 'little book' has explained more about karma with very easy to read examples that I have yet to find. I found this book simple yet profound, light reading yet deep in context. This book is sure to go far and I will be telling everyone I know about it. Don't leave home without it...

Excellent! Great teaching tool!
I read this book as a child, and here I am years later with a copy my sister recently purchased - and still remember the characters. An excellent way to teach children right from wrong - as well as helping them understand why people act the way they do. I recommend this book and all of the other "Little Miss" and "Mr." books. Longfellow: Selected Poems (Penguin Classics)
Published in Paperback by Penguin USA (Paper) (January, 1988)
Authors: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and Lawrence Buell
Average review score:

Poetry written for the human soul!
Whether you are simply exploring an interest in poetry or are a seasoned reader of the great poets, Longfellow's poems will move you. There is a poem in this collection that is perfect for every mood you could be in. If you are down and need to be lifted up, if you simply want to smile about the beauty of life, or if your heart has been broken, Longfellow's works will speak to your heart. Longfellow's works have spoken to my soul as no other poet or writer has ever before.

you want it you got it
I love this book it is something that men and women would enjoy. I have tons of information on Henry Wadsworth Longfellow because our house is a remake of his he lived from 1807-1882. If I were you I would buy it I am the biggest fan of his I have every single book of poems, songs, and more on him in paperback and hardcover. Buy it!

The best introduction to one of America's best loved poets.
When I was producing a video biography of Longfellow for Macmillan/McGraw-Hill in 1992, I needed a one-volume selection of Longfellow's poetry, and this book did the job very nicely. It includes Longfellow's best-known poems as well as two others that were never published during the poet's lifetime but must be classed with his finest work. The introduction by Lawrence Buell provides a useful biographical sketch and a thoughtful discussion of why Longfellow--the most famous American of his time--is not more widely read today. Buell's observations may get you thinking about this schoolbook poet in a different way.

Lost Girl
Published in Hardcover by Amereon Ltd (June, 1978)
Author: D. H. Lawrence
Average review score:

Extroidinary Novel
This book was beautifully and passionately written. It is a love story unique and philosophical. Do we choose our own fates? Alvina will tell you.

Soul Searching
Just like SISTER CARRIE, THE LOST GIRL is about a young woman searching for her place in the world. Meaning, floucing from one man to another, flirting, playing, getting engaged then dashing away for fun. And just like JEANNIE GERHARDT, this old man gets herself in trouble.

But the most fascinating part of this book is it's glimps into her background. How she was brought up in a wealthy and rich household, only to try out different occupations against her father's wishes, then ends up as a lower classed female in life. Very tragic.

A Touching, Soul-Searching Novel
I recently got done reading this wonderful, yet forgotten novel of Lawrence's. Truly compelling in it's intricate details of a young woman trying to find herself. Literally. She goes on the 'universal' self journey and discovers that she was lost and finally finds her identity and sensuality in the man she loves. D.H. Lawrence has a wonderful way of not wrapping up the ending in a nice, neat little package. As always, Lawrence is the ultimate man of mystery, sensual needs and desires. A "must read" for those who love to read Lawrence and for those who never have!

Love Everlasting (Arabesque)
Published in Paperback by Pinnacle Books (May, 1998)
Authors: Anna Larence and Anna Lawrence
Average review score:

NOT JUST ANOTHER ROMANCE
I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE READ SUCH A SUSPENSEFUL ROMANCE NOVEL. I MEAN I COULD NOT WAIT TO TURN EACH PAGE TO SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN NEXT. I DIDN'T THINK THESE TWO WOULD EVER GET TOGETHER WITH ALL THAT WAS AGIANST THEM. I GUESS TRUE LOVE ALWAYS WINS IN THE END. HEATHER AND GERALD MADE ME BELIEVE IN REAL LOVE AGAIN. I JUST FOUND OUT THAT ANNA LARENCE HAS WRITTEN OTHER BOOKS WITH THESE SAME CHARACTERS. NOW I HAVE TO GO ONLINE AND ORDER EVERYTHING SHE HAS EVER WRITTEN. I'M SURE I WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

ANOTHER WINNAH! JUMP ON IT!
Wait until you have the pleasure of reading this book. Ms. Larence is a romance writer that doesn't even make a suggestion of a bedroom make out torid love scene, let along even approach the bedroom door. But guess what! It works and will hold your attention from the very first page.

And that first page reading literally had my jaw hanging down to the floor. I couldn't believe that a woman could leave a man at the altar. Especially, a millionaire NBA, MVP, handsome and loving man as Gerald Forrester was, and claim to love him.

But this is what Heather Chadwick did. But that's not all folks! Girlfriend expects the jilted groom to understand and still remain with her.

When I first starting reading this book, I said this woman has lost her mind, and immediately settled down to hate The heroine with all my heart. But guess what! I found myself rooting for girlfriend to get her man back! I couldn't believe it myself.

Wait until you read the many ways she devises to get her man back (she's very creative). Have a box of tissues ready. I still get weepy thinking about the restaurant scene where she lays out everything to Gerald - and in the presence of his girlfriend! Ms. Larence has written an ending that surpasses all endings. You'll never guess.

I won't say another word. Experience it yourself. Needless to say, I went online and ordered everything Ms. Larence has written. I have some catch up to do, because this is her third novel. I hope you take my advice to buy this woman's books, she will have your emotions tied up in knots!

Unusually suspensefull w/romance and thought provoking
Heather is a wonderfull character with a not so common problem. i was very anxious to find out just how "mr.sicko" was going to convince heather that he was the man for her. i never thought that it would be in that fashion. it was shocking, shocking, shocking. heather's mom was a jewel. she was another controlling mom who actually believed that she was doing all the right things for her daughter. the idea of introducing the wnba into this storyline was a bonus for all women. i never expected it. after reading this book, i had to find the first book and was not disappointed. thanks for really thinking of women with color in a positive roll.

Management of Headache and Headache Medications
Published in Paperback by Springer Verlag (February, 2000)
Author: Lawrence D. Robbins
Average review score:

even better
I got Dr. R's book for the public, Headache Help, and that was excellent so I purchased this one, I think written for doctors. It is excellent, incredibly complete....I used it to suggest treatments to my doctor...by far the most extensive book I have found on the medicines....JH

Excellent book
Dr. Robbins has once again written technical medical information in language the ordinary layman can understand and put to practical use. As a headache suffer myself, information contained in this book has helped me cope with the day to day trials of headache life. This info, coupled with what I learned in Dr. Robbins previous books, has opened my eyes and helped me understand some of the "whys" and "why nots" of certain mediations and even the medical profession itself. I recommend this book as "must reading" for the headache communuity.

Best Headache Book for Physicians on the Market
The 2nd edition of this book is now available. This book had previously been reviewed as the best headache book on the market for physicians. It describes in detail all the different types of headache and dicusses all treatment and medications available. It is particularly good for what to do when nothing works. Although initially intended for physicians, this book is very understandable and readable for the patient as well. This is a "must have" for anyone suffering from headache.

The Medium, the Mystic, and the Physicist: Toward a General Theory of the Paranormal
Published in Paperback by Allworth Press (May, 2003)
Author: Lawrence L. LeShan
Average review score:

An intriguing study backed with scientific percision
It's hard to easily categorize this title: a blend of psychology, physics, and spirituality written by a research psychologists, this develops his ideas on parallels between views of modern field theory and world-views of mystics. His focus on 'facts that do not fit' offers new insights on human abilities and potentials, describing the experiments which lead to his change of view, and his theory of the paranormal. An intriguing study backed with scientific percision.

Accessibly written for the non-specialist general reader
The Medium, The Mystic, And The Physicist: Toward A General Theory Of the Paranormal by psychologist, educator, and author Lawrence LeShan is a New Age book that persuasively presents evidence of psychic abilities, and seeks to draw together the views and science of mediums, mystics, and physicists alike. A extended contemplation of holistic theory, The Medium, The Mystic, And The Physicist transcends the tendency that people of different religious, spiritual, and scientific viewpoints and experiences have all to often been shortsightedly led to scorn one another. Accessibly written for the non-specialist general reader, The Medium, The Mystic, And The Physicist is a unique and very welcome contribution to Psychology and Metaphysical Studies reading lists.

A Very Important Book on healing and meditation
This genius book is Le Shan's exploration into methods of healing that use meditation, and/or prayer. I want to re-read the book and review it after, but it is a remarkable pieve of work by a great psychologist who has worked for years on the psychodynamics of cancer. I read it years ago and have,as a psychotherapist, used it many times to help heal individuals (and two dogs). It's powerful stuff..and important work for the future of holistic medicine. Every therapist, physician and minister should read it cover to cover. I am a New york city psychotherapist, writer.

My name is Milton Haynes, CSW

Men in Leadership: Daily Devotions to Guide Today's Leading Men (One Minute Bible)
Published in Hardcover by Broadman & Holman Publishers (October, 1999)
Authors: Bob Briner and Lawrence Kimbrough
Average review score:

Splendid lessons on biblical leadership
Bob Briner has done an exquisite job of crafting an easily accessible, thought provoking devotional guide for men in leadership. Some of the lessons are like a shot to the solar plexus - they will startle the reader. Each day's lesson provides ample insights for reflection and prayer. Clean design includes scripture, insights, lesson and a miniscule space for a written response. An index of scripture lessons is provided, along with lined pages for notes. The book delivers on the subtitle promise: "90 proven leadership principles."

The best devotional I have used...
Bob Briner combines an experienced, time-tested businessman's background with an unwavering commitment to and deep knowledge of God in this devotional. I have found his practical insights very useful in living out a daily commitment to growing in my faith. I am giving this book to all my Stanford buddies! It is by far the best devotional that I have ever come across.

Truly applicable to helping Men in Leadership!
The approach Bob had taken in making this devotional truly reflects that kind of lifestyle that Christ would want for us to have. It has definitely centered my attention and focus on how to deal with responsibility, leadership, attitude, and willingness to make a change. I encourage readers to purchase this book and share it with those in the leadership role.

Enjoy!
